How to Make Lauki Kofta - a Delicious Dish to Make in a Daily Meal or for a Party

Ingredients Gourd Kofta

  • Gourd / Doodhi Gram
  • Salt to taste
  • Gram flour 5 small spoon
  • Red chilli powder 1/2 (half) tsp
  • Tamarind 12
  • For oil floor ne
  • To make gravy
  • Oil 3 tablespoons
  • Onion chopped
  • Turmeric powder 3 / tsp
  • Coriander powder 11/2(dead tablespoons
  • Red chilli powder 3 / tsp
  • Tomato / tomato puree
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves 2 Tablespoons



Method

Step 1

  • Peel and grate the gourd for the koftas. Squeeze out excess water. Add salt, besan, red chilli powder and mix.

Step 2

  • Make an even 12 parts. Stuff a tamarind slice into every portion. Then wet the palms and give the shape of round koftas. Heat the oil in a kadhai, add a few koftas and fry for two to three minutes and then place on absorbent paper.

Step 3

  • Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a nine stick kadhai and fry the onions. Then add turmeric powder, coriander powder and red chilli powder. Fry for a minute while stirring a spoon over medium heat.

Step 4

  • Add the tomato puree and keep on the heat until two tablespoons of water and oil are separated. Then pour 2 cups of water and let boil.

Step 5

  • Add salt, slow the heat and cook for another five minutes. Keep the gravy warm. Add half the amount of coriander leaves and mix. When serving, decorate the kofts on a serving plate, pour gravy on top. Serve garnished with the rest of the green coriander.
